“PGCEA Announces Endorsements for 2012 Prince George’s County Board of Education”

March 22, 2012: The Prince George’s County Educators’ Association (PGCEA) is endorsing the following candidates for Prince George’s County Board of Education in the 2012 elections:

District 4: Micah Watson

District 5: Jeana Jacobs

District 7: Henry Armwood, Jr

District 8: Andre Nottingham

The Prince George’s County Educators’ Association prides itself in the due diligence put into every endorsement. A committee of educators interviewed candidates in each district and recommended the ones best prepared to guide the second-largest school system in Maryland. PGCEA President Kenneth Haines is asking voters “Please, weigh our endorsements in these important races for the Board of Education! Their deliberations & decisions will influence the lives of 9,000 classroom-based educators & 123,000 children.” PGCEA, an affiliate of the National Education Association, remains steadfast in supporting candidates who are committed to the principle of “a great public school for every child”. These candidates have the required knowledge, expertise and passion to lead the Prince George’s County Public Schools.
